Secondary House Swimming Carnival

School News

March 8, 2024

This year’s House swimming carnival was a great success, we had some rain early in the morning which made the conditions pleasant around the pool, although it did heat up later in the day which resulted in plenty of participants entering events on the day to help receive points for their house and give them a winning chance.

This year we added some different novelty events and some chances to have a free swim to get as many students in the pool as possible throughout the day. This was welcomed by the students and allowed for them to compete against all their peers. It was great to see such great sportsmanship and house spirit throughout the day. We thank all the teachers for their support on the day and all the parents who came to support their children at the event.

It was the closest battle for years on the leader board all day, but the eventual winners were Barbier, just edging out Ward by less than 20 points. Congratulations to Barbier students and Head of House, Miss Cara for taking out the swimming carnival in her first year in charge.

The order of winning houses below:

Barbier. 467

Ward 450

Rice. 441

O’Brien 422

We also had some great swims on the day and saw one record broken by Thomas Garstone in the Yr 7 25m Freestyle.
