Majarlin

St Mary’s College has a unique partnership with the Majarlin Kimberley Centre for Remote Health. Partnership with Majarlin sees both our primary and secondary campus hosting Occupational Therapy, Speech and Physiotherapy students from various universities.

Majarlin students are placed on either our primary or secondary campus and work with whole classes or individual students depending on university level and school need. Students also participate in running handwriting, social-emotional and transition to high school programs.

In 2022 St Mary’s College was the recipient of the Majarlin Thumbprint Award. This annual Majarlin award is based on the Majarlin logo of a thumbprint and awarded annually to an organisation that provides students with a safe, supportive learning environment and the opportunity to experience the Kimberley as a whole. The logo has a thumbprint at the centre to signify the impression the Kimberley has on those who live and visit here and uses colours of the Kimberley. The thumbprint also recognises that each individual and organisation can contribute to the Kimberley and leave a lasting legacy. The outside circles of dots represent footprints coming back, returning to and building on the Kimberley experience. The Majarlin logo was developed by Katidjah Bin Rashid, a local Yawuru woman, and is in keeping with the Majarlin name of ‘coming back’.

Here at St Mary’s College, we value our partnership with Majarlin and the impact it has on the students within our school community as well as the therapy students who are placed with us.
