North Regional Tafe

At St Mary’s College we recognise that as students mature, they develop a greater understanding of their passions, strengths, and personal learning styles. Using a holistic approach to education we build connections with local providers and stakeholders to provide our students with a personalised education journey. 

North Regional TAFE is one of the ten TAFE colleges in Western Australia and offers a wide range of practical and industry-focused courses and qualifications. TAFE qualifications focus on specific vocational skills and prepare students for specific career paths. Qualifications studied at TAFE while in school can be used towards a student’s Year 12 WA Certificate of Education (WACE). 

Students that study qualifications through TAFE while at school do so in ‘block weeks’ that run twice per term. During these block weeks, teachers do not cover new material with the class. By arranging the block weeks in this fashion, students are empowered to engage fully with their learning at TAFE without fear of missing valuable school time. 

By choosing to study courses through TAFE in Year 10-12, students are provided with a pathway to further studies at TAFE and university, or to direct employment in their chosen industry. TAFE qualification on offer cover a wide range of industries including business, community services, construction, engineering, health, mining, tourism, hospitality, marine services, and many more.
