Vision for Learning

Vision for Learning

At St Mary’s College, our Vision for Learning is built on three pillars: Engagement, Excellence, and Encounter. We create safe, welcoming and inclusive environments where every learner is known, honouring culture, identity and voice while fostering strong partnerships between students, families, staff and community. Our aim is to empower learners to contribute, participate and lead, building authentic experiences that connect them to their place in the world.

We maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour and growth, using data, evidence and feedback to continually improve teaching and learning outcomes. We celebrate effort, perseverance and achievement, supporting students to set goals, take ownership of their learning, and develop the resilience, curiosity and growth mindset needed to thrive.

Faith and culture sit at the heart of our community. We create opportunities for prayer, reflection and spiritual growth, while honouring and embedding First Nations perspectives, spirituality and ways of knowing. Through storytelling, dialogue and cultural experiences, we nurture relationships grounded in dignity, empathy and love, guided by our core values of Courage, Love, Empathy, Acceptance and Resilience.
