Our talented dance students recently travelled to Perth to participate in the Catholic Performing Arts Festival (CPAF), showcasing their dedication, creativity, and teamwork through a series of dance performances.
The opportunity to perform at CPAF was the culmination of weeks of commitment, with much of the rehearsal and preparation taking place after school. Students gave up their afternoons and personal time to rehearse, refine choreography and build the confidence needed to perform on stage. Their commitment was a testament to their passion for dance and their willingness to work together towards a shared goal.
Rehearsals required focus, persistence, and plenty of teamwork, with students continuing to practice long after the school day had finished, even learning from videos to strengthen their performance.
Their hard work paid off when the group travelled to Perth and took to the stage at CPAF. Performing alongside other talented young people from Catholic schools, our students proudly represented the school and shared their skills with a wider audience.
The trip also provided students with valuable opportunities beyond the festival itself. Between rehearsals, they explored Perth, visited the museum, enjoyed shopping together and built meaningful memories while away from home.
The combination of intensive training, performance and exploration made the trip a rewarding experience. Students developed not only as performers but also in confidence, independence, and their ability to work as a team. For many, the highlight was stepping onto the stage and seeing their hours of after‑school rehearsals come together in front of an audience of 2,500 people.
Their CPAF journey was a wonderful example of what can be achieved through dedication and commitment. From after‑school rehearsals to the Perth stage, our students demonstrated pride, perseverance, and a genuine passion for the performing arts.
