In a heartfelt day, full of celebration and farewell, St Mary’s College proudly recognised and honoured the Class of 2024, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

We commenced the day with a special breakfast celebration for Year 12 students and staff. Student awards for teachers were presented, recognising the unique and quality relationships that our students and staff share at our College. We then proceeded to a Final Assembly where our Year 6-12 students farewelled our Year 12’s with moving addresses from our College Captains with important and meaningful messages to our younger students on what it means to have a listening heart and our College values in action. It was then time for the teachers to give some special awards to our graduating class – great excitement and genuine relationships and pride were the key messages of these awards.

Following on to the afternoon we had our Graduation Mass, led by Father Liam, brought together students, families, staff, community members and esteemed guests in a beautiful Eucharist that highlighted community and faith.

The evening began with a warm Welcome to Country by Severo Corpus, reminding all of the privilege of living, learning, and growing on Yawuru country. Our College’s founding orders, the Sisters of St. John of God and the Christian Brothers, were honoured for their enduring influence on the College Catholic identity. We were also joined by inspiring community leaders, including Divina D’Anna, Member of Kimberley, and Nyamba Buru Yawuru Chief Operating Officer Taliyah Payne, who shared words of wisdom with the graduates as the keynote address. We welcomed our partners from St Martin De Porres, Deadly Sista Girlz Walitj, Clontarf Academy, Notre Dame University, CEWA Transition Unit, our Board Chair and P&F Team.

Graduation was a mix of laughter, tears, and joy as students reflected on their journey from Kindergarten through Year 12. The event celerbated not only the achievements of the graduating students but also the commitment of families, teachers, and support teams. College staff organised a memorable celebration, bringing the entire St Mary’s community together to cheer on this remarkable group of young adults.

Ms Coby’s Principal address encouraged students to carry the College core values—courage, love, empathy, acceptance, and resilience—into the next chapter of their lives. Students were reminded of their light, a spark they carry into the world beyond our College, and to stay grounded in kindness, respect, and responsibility. As they venture into university, work, travel, or new opportunities, they know they have the support of their families, teachers, our College and their faith.

We congratulate our Year 12 graduates of 2024! May their future be filled with joy, success, courage, and a listening heart. Wherever life takes you, remember you are always part of the St Mary’s College family.
