On Friday the SMC year 9 girls participated in the Deadly Diva Day, created and organised by Garnduwa. This was an inspiring and empowering event aimed at educating and supporting young women. The day kicked off with a lively game of footy, which set a positive and energetic tone for the activities that followed. Students then engaged in a series of informative workshops, each designed to address critical topics. These included women’s sexual health, job and skills development, heart disease education, and mental health. The mental health session was particularly impactful, focusing on grounding techniques to help individuals maintain a sense of well-being and emotional balance.
Throughout the day, the girls were encouraged to engage, ask questions, and share their experiences, fostering a sense of community and mutual support. The event was a resounding success, with all attendees leaving with new perspectives, practical knowledge, and a renewed sense of confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges and opportunities
