On Friday 28 August, Term 3 Week 6, our athletes took to the track and field for the 2026 St Mary’s Primary Athletics Carnival. The day was filled with House pride, personal bests, record-breaking performances and strong competition for valuable House points.
The day began with one of the College’s much-loved traditions — House marching. Students proudly marched onto the oval to the iconic sounds of Eye of the Tiger, showcasing their House colours, spirit and teamwork. Marching has a deep tradition at St Mary’s and remains a special part of our Athletics Carnival. Barbier House was recognised for its outstanding marching performance, taking home the 2026 Marching Shield. A special thank you to Miss Josie for her dedication to keeping this wonderful tradition alive and ensuring it continues to be an important part of our College sporting culture.
Students competed across a range of track and field events, demonstrating determination, resilience and a willingness to challenge themselves. Congratulations to everyone who participated and contributed points to their House.
We also congratulate our Age Champions and record breakers who were recognised on the day. These achievements reflect the commitment and effort shown by our students throughout the carnival.
The carnival would not be possible without the support of our staff, parents and volunteers. Thank you for giving your time and helping ensure the day ran smoothly and safely for all our athletes. Your ongoing support of our College community is greatly appreciated.
