The Waalitj Foundation aims to lead the provision of education, employment, and business opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander female students.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls at St Mary’s College can access our very own onsite Academy. The programme is delivered by strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander role models. It is a culturally appropriate healthy lifestyle programme which aims to improve engagement and education amongst school-aged Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls.
The positive female mentors on site provide guidance and support for our students and encourages them to become leaders in their families and communities. The girls have the opportunity to attend weekly mentoring sessions (by year level), camps, sporting activities and future employment advice.
