Year 12 Leaders Shine

Members of the Year 12 Student Representative Council attended the Year 12 SRC 2024 Youth Leadership Camp. This opportunity has been uniquely designed by St Mary’s College to provide our important student leaders with experiences to support and encourage their leadership in 2024 and beyond. 

The camp was held in Perth and occured over three days. Local organisations provided sponsorship to support this camp. Sponsorship was received from the Hon Neil Thomson, Shadow Minister for Environment, Lands, Planning and Heritage, The Kimberley Ports Authority and Broome Builders. 

Students participated in the following leadership opportunities: 

  • Attendance at the Youth Leadership Academy Australia Conference 2024 
  • Emerging leadership discussion with Perth Festival Executive Director Nathan Bennett 
  • Viewing of La Chimera at Somerville Auditorium sponsored by the Perth Festival 
  • Perth Council House visit with a meet and greet with Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas 
  • Channel Nine News Tour 
  • Parliament House Tour 
  • Levitate Leadership Workshops on goal setting and high performance at Sacred Heart Catholic College with fellow student leaders
