Our Wiriny Buru was filled with excitement and laughter as secondary students and their special family members were invited to a special Shrek Movie Night at our College. The event, supported by our dedicated staff, led by our Director of Learning Diversity and some of our incredible secondary Broome Residential College students, brought our community together for an evening of fun, friendship, and cinematic magic.
Students settled in for the beloved animated classic, Shrek, enjoying the chance to relax, share laughs, and bond over the heartwarming story. The event was more than just a movie screening—it was a celebration of our College’s commitment to inclusivity, connection, and the strong relationships within our entire community. Students joined together to plan the event, choosing the movie and location for the screening, due to the strong connections, security and familiarity they have with their special space.
A huge thank you to the staff and secondary students who helped make the night special, ensuring that Wiriny Buru students felt welcome and supported. Their efforts reflected the College’s motto of a listening heart; we are so impressed with these leaders.
With plenty of smiles and shared moments, the night was a great success, one that will surely be remembered by all who attended!
