As the season of Advent begins, students and staff from our Wiriny Buru, along with Fr Liam have come together to share the joy of Christmas with our Broome community. In a beautiful act of service and celebration, this incredible group helped set up the Christmas tree at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral, marking the start of this special liturgical season.
Advent is a time of preparation and reflection, leading up to the celebration of Jesus’ birth. Through this special opportunity, our students embraced the true meaning of Christmas – giving, serving, and sharing love. The activity was part of their Christmas Learning, encouraging students to live out the College values of love, acceptance and empathy.
This is a wonderful way for our students to connect with our parish team and understand that Christmas is about more than gifts, it’s about coming together and celebrating the birth of Christ.
The students not only decorated the tree but also learned about the significance of Advent traditions, deepening their understanding of the Catholic faith. Their efforts will no doubt bring joy to parishioners and reminded everyone of the importance of hope, peace, joy, and love during this season.
