The festive spirit came alive as St Mary’s College hosted its much-anticipated 2024 Primary Christmas Concert. With a focus on the Christmas message of hope, peace, and love, the event was a heartwarming celebration that brought together students, staff, families, Our Lady Queen Peace team and our incredible wider community.

The evening opened with a warm welcome from our Year Six student leaders who set the tone for the joyous occasion. Acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land, the Yawuru people, our leaders paid tribute to their enduring culture and recognised and gave thanks.

This years Concert featured a variety of performances that showcased the talents, energy and College values of St Mary’s youngest stars:

Run, Run, Rudolph – The evening kicked off with an energetic dance performance by Ms Melissa’s Year 1 and 2 Dance Stars, setting the stage for a fun-filled night.

Little Drummer Boy – Our Pre-Primary students charmed the audience with a beautiful rendition of this classic song, led by Ms Kristi on guitar.

The Christmas Story – Our Year 3 students brought the nativity to life, reminding everyone of the humble beginnings of Christmas.

Mary’s Boy Child – Our delightful and brave Kindy students stole the show with their heartwarming performance.

Christmas Star – Our Year 4 students sparkled on stage with their performance of this beloved festive tune.

Joy to the World – Our Year 5 students shared the joy of the season through a stirring acapella performance.

Aussie Jingle Bells – Our Year 2 students brought an Aussie twist to a Christmas classic, filling the hall with laughter and cheer.

Elves Just Wanna Have Fun – Our Year 1 students delighted the audience with a playful tribute to Santa’s hardworking elves.

Winter Wonderland/Here Comes Santa Claus – Our Year 6 students, marking the end of their primary journey, delivered a memorable and festive finale.

The concert concluded with a special performance of We Wish You a Merry Christmas by our College staff, a fitting end to a magical evening.

A heartfelt thank you was extended from Miss Coby to our students for their outstanding performances, the staff for their dedication in preparing the event, particularly the talented Christmas Concert committee, and the families for their unwavering support. Special thanks and welcome were also given to Father Liam, who provided a Christmas blessing to close our evening on a note of reflection and well wishes for our community to stay safe and have a holy Christmas.

The 2024 Primary Christmas Concert was a true testament to the spirit of St Mary’s College—a community that celebrates faith, family, the Arts and the joy of coming together during this most wonderful time of the year. We wish our families and community a wonderfully Merry Christmas.
