Student Shine at Aspire UWA Camp

School News

The Aspire UWA Camp is a wonderful opportunity offered to selected St Mary’s College students to inspire students and raise aspirations for university. UWA partners with over 70 Perth and regional WA schools to encourage students who may not have considered tertiary education to explore the opportunities and benefits.

Ms Erin is a wonderful advocate of this program and ensured once again our students were able to access this incredible opportunity in Perth. Four of our Year 9 students represented our College, their community and families in Perth to participate in the Aspire UWA Camp.

Students experienced so much and were certainly enriched by these experiences;

  • Sneak peek into life and meals at the St Catherine’s and Trinity Residential Colleges
  • Sporting events around Campus
  • Immersion with University students
  • Taster sessions of university life on campus
  • School Engagement Information Sessions and School of Indigenous Studies tours
  • Visit to Boola Bardip Museum, WA Art Gallery, Planetarium and Scitech.

Students had such a fun-filled few days, where new friendships were formed, experiences galore and learning to bring back to our community. An opportunity to be treasured and remembered for many years to come. There are so many possibilities and pathways for all of our students and we look forward to continuing this journey and partnership with all of our students and families in 2025.
