The spirit of competition and sportsmanship was on full display as St Mary’s College Broome participated in the Primary Interschool Swimming Carnival at the (BRAC) alongside the best primary swimmers in our community. Competing against primary schools from across the West Kimberley our talented swimmers gave their all, embodying the College values of Courage, Love, Empathy, Acceptance and Resilience.

From the first whistle to the final race, our students demonstrated outstanding skill, determination, and teamwork. They swam well, cheered loudly, and were sensational teammates, truly making our College proud. The day was filled with exciting races, nail-biting finishes, and plenty of encouragement from the sidelines as our swimmers pushed themselves to achieve personal bests. Their enthusiasm and effort reflected the College’s commitment to excellence, both in and out of the pool.

We had several standout performances, with multiple students securing podium finishes in their respective events. Our younger swimmers showed incredible promise, while our senior competitors set an excellent example with their dedication and discipline.

A special mention goes to our relay teams, who showcased incredible synergy and sportsmanship, cheering on teammates and competitors alike. It was inspiring to see the way our students supported one another, demonstrating true camaraderie and college spirit.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support from our dedicated staff. A heartfelt thank you to Rose Mitchell, Hayley Sanders, Kira Edgar, and Mr. Tom Williams for their guidance at the pool and for ensuring our swimmers felt supported throughout this competition. Special thanks also to Janenell Kennedy, Keryn Moase, and Tom Williams for their tireless efforts in planning and organising before-school training and breakfast sessions, setting our team up for success.

The College community is incredibly proud of all participants who represented our college with dignity and passion. Their dedication and positive attitude exemplified the values we hold dear, making the event not just a competition, but a celebration of perseverance and unity with our West Kimberley schools.

Congratulations to all the swimmers, and a huge thank you to the teachers, parents, and supporters from all schools who made the day possible. We also extend our gratitude to the event organisers for hosting such a fantastic carnival. We look forward to next year’s event and another opportunity to make a splash for St Mary’s College Broome!
