Scholarship students welcome new scholars

Madalah Scholarship students recently took part in an engaging and uplifting visit, led by Kaide and Casey, that focused on building positive friendships, relationships, and self-belief.

As part of the day, Kaide and Casey invited Headspace to deliver a workshop on Healthy Relationships and Friendships. The session encouraged students to reflect on what positive relationships look like, highlighting key values such as respect, trust, and kindness. Students actively participated in an interactive activity that helped them identify the qualities that make friendships and relationships healthy and supportive.

Following the workshop, Kaide, Casey, and the students enjoyed some downtime together—playing cards, painting canvases, and sharing lunch outdoors, which Kaide and Casey had kindly provided.

In the afternoon, students took part in a creative and reflective activity by designing their own Affirmation Cards. Each student created three cards that expressed personal, positive messages they could use to encourage themselves during times of stress or self-doubt. These individual creations will eventually be combined into a printed set of affirmation cards, representing all participating schools. The goal is to provide students with a practical tool to build resilience and maintain a positive mindset.

The day concluded with more painting, games, and opportunities for connection. Student engagement throughout the visit was outstanding, with many students—especially next year’s scholars—embracing the chance to build new friendships and feel welcomed into the group.

Kaide and Casey said it was a “wonderful opportunity for students to settle in, learn together, and enjoy each other’s company in a supportive environment.”
