In a heartwarming Liturgy held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral, students from our College and Parish community participated in the Sacrament of their First Reconciliation. The event marked a significant milestone in the spiritual journey of these young students as they received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. The Cathedral was filled with the joyful presence of students, parents, teachers, and parishioners, all gathered to support the children as they took this important step in their faith.
The Liturgy began with a warm welcome from Father Liam, supported by Father Patricio, who emphasised the importance of forgiveness and the love of God in these young people’s lives. Fr Liam reminded us all that this is a Sacrament we continue to grow in with strength, time, and support.
Throughout the Liturgy, students demonstrated their understanding of the Sacrament through heartfelt prayers and reflections. The Cathedral was a place of reverence and celebration, as each child approached the altar well prepared and with a sense of humility and grace.
The Sacramental team expressed their pride and joy in witnessing the students’ commitment to their faith, calling it a beautiful moment for both the children and the community, feeling so proud of every student for embracing this Sacrament with such sincerity.
The Liturgy concluded with a special blessing from Father Liam, who encouraged the students to continue growing in their faith and to always seek God’s forgiveness and guidance. The event was followed by a cake to celebrate, where families and friends gathered to honour these young people.
The First Reconciliation Liturgy at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral was a memorable and spiritually enriching experience for all involved, highlighting the strong sense of community and faith between our Parish and College. We are grateful to our Parish Team, Father Liam and Father Patricio, along with our incredible College team, Ms Hayley, Ms Jade, Ms Brigid, Ms Sophia, Ms Sarah, Ms Keryn and Ms Sara for all their efforts to make this so very special and meaningful for our students and families.
