Sacrament of Confirmation

In partnership with Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish we as a community gathered to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation. This celebration was a joyous occasion, highlighting the faith and commitment of our young people as they received the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

This journey began with a Parent/Child workshop, as part of our Religious Education lessons. It was heartening to see the Holy Spirit at work as students and families reaffirmed their commitment to living out the Gospel of Jesus by serving others. The workshop emphasised the Holy Spirit, alive and active in the world today, guiding and strengthening us.

Our Confirmation Commitment Mass allowed us to come together with our Parish. This special celebration of the Eucharist focused on our students’ commitment to becoming full adult members of the Church, living as Jesus taught, loving our neighbours, and embodying the Gospel’s message. The cathedral was filled with families celebrating the joy of the Holy Spirit.

The highlight of this journey was our Confirmation Mass, celebrated by Bishop Tim at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral. The Mass featured 22 candidates, with our College Choir leading the Cathedral in song, creating a joyful and memorable experience. Bishop Tim’s homily emphasised the wonderful gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, reminding us all to reaffirm our baptismal promises and be kind to our neighbours. Each candidate was anointed with Sacred Chrism, symbolising their deepened faith. Bishop Tim also took the time to speak with each candidate about their saint name and how it can strengthen them on their journey forward.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the newly confirmed members of our community. They left spiritually strengthened and committed to their faith, supported by their families, teachers, and the College community. The parish community of Our Lady Queen of Peace played a vital role in supporting these young people throughout their sacramental journey.

We are grateful to our committed Parish team, including Bishop Tim, Father Patricio, and Father Liam, provided wonderful support throughout this journey. We are blessed to have such a committed Parish team who partner with families and staff in this faith journey. We are also grateful to our families for their incredible support. Special thanks go to Miss Jorje, Miss Verity, Miss Keryn, Father Liam, and Father Patricio for their tireless efforts in supporting this Sacrament.

We hope that these students and our entire community feel strengthened by the fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in their lives. We are very proud of you all.
