We celebrated our Sacrament of Confirmation with a full and vibrant Church celebrating our young people and faith.  The journey through the Sacrament of Confirmation was a special and meaningful time for our young people and our community as we celebrated the Holy Spirit guiding our lives towards goodness and truth in God through some of the important gifts of the Holy Spirit such as wisdom, understanding, right judgment, courage and knowledge.

Our Sacramental Confirmation journey commenced for students and families with a Parent/Child workshop on Wednesday 9th May. It was wonderful to see the spirit at work with students and families as they were able to reaffirm their commitment, and responsibility to be a witness to the Gospel of Jesus by serving others as He did. Focusing on teaching us that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, alive in the world today, dwelling with people and in people, guiding and giving strength.

We joined our Parish community on Saturday 11th May for a Confirmation Commitment Mass. This journey was focused on our students committing themselves as full adult members of God’s family, the Church, seeking to live as Jesus shows them, to love their neighbours and to live the Gospel’s message in their lives. It was wonderful to have our Cathedral full of families celebrating the joy of the Holy Spirit together.

Bishop Michael and Father Patricio celebrated our Sacrament of Confirmation Mass on Saturday 15th June at our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral. This Confirmation Mass featured 27 candidates, with our College Choir leading us in song creating a joyful and memorable experience. Bishop Michael in his homily emphasised the wonderful gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, then each candidate was anointed with Sacred Chrism, symbolising their deepened faith. Bishop Michael took time to speak with each candidate about their saint name and how this can strengthen them in their journey forward.

Congratulations to our newly confirmed members of our community, who left spiritually strengthened and committed to their faith, the families, teachers and College community that guided them through their faith journey, along with the parish community of Our Lady Queen of Peace that supported these young people for this sacrament.

Our Parish team of Bishop Michael, Father Patricio and Father Liam were a wonderful support through this sacramental journey and we were blessed to have Bishop Michael celebrate this Mass for us. We are grateful to have such a committed Parish team who want to journey alongside parents as partners in this faith journey. Our parents and extended families have been incredibly supportive as always and we feel extremely lucky to have such amazing partners in our families to walk alongside our students. We give thanks for the incredible team that worked tirelessly to support students and families on their journey, thanks to Miss Jorje, Miss Verity, Miss Erikka, Mr Jahkeen, Miss Matilda, Miss Keryn, Father Liam and Father Patricio. What a team to support these young people, we are certainly aware of how wonderful you all are and just how lucky we are to have you at our College.

We hope that these students and our entire community feel strengthened in the fruits of the Holy Spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in their lives.
