Our College was abuzz with excitement for our RICE house as students, staff, and community members gathered to celebrate our RICE House Feast Day. A day to honour and give thanks to one of our founding order of our College, the Christian Brothers by Blessed Edmund Rice. This annual event, held on May 5th, commemorates the remarkable legacy of Edmund Rice, whose dedication to education and service continues to inspire generations through our College.

The day began with a special Mass at our Nulungu chapel, where students and staff reflected on the life and contributions of Edmund Rice. Brother Berkeley commenced our celebration with sharing some special words and thoughts on Edmund Rice to inspire and educate our young people. Fr Liam led our celebration of the Eucharist and was able to remind us all of the importance and impact of the brothers in the Kimberley particularly.

We were delighted to celebrate our Christian Brothers, Br Berkeley and Br Peter who are well respected and known within our college community. These Christian brothers highlight the values of compassion, service, and community that Edmund Rice championed which still today can be seen in the values of our college today.

Our Mass was followed with a beautiful cake for morning tea and our RICE house students from years 3-12 coming together for tug of war and games on our secondary campus.

Edmund Rice’s vision of education as a means to uplift and empower is at the heart of our College, ensuring our motto of  listening hearts are responding with our values of Courage, Love, Empathy, Acceptance and Resilience, honouring this Edmund Rice legacy and reaffirming our commitment to fostering a community of compassion and service in our young people.
