Our college is so proud to announce the unveiling of a remarkable collection of portraits created by our talented Year 8 Visual Arts students. This year, the students have been diligently studying the art of portraitures, focusing on creatively capturing the essence of their subjects through the mixing of skin tones, various painting techniques, and precise facial proportions. They are all so talented, led and supported by the incredible Ms Bonnie and Ms Carlene.
In celebration of NAIDOC Week, the theme for this year is ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy’. Our young artists have chosen to honour strong First Nations individuals who embody these qualities. Among the subjects of their portraits are renowned figures such as Adam Goodes, Cathy Freeman, Barkaa, Tony Armstrong, Jessica Mauboy, and Patty Mills. Additionally, the students have also painted portraits of some of College’s very own superstars, including Ms Carlene, Mr Aaron, and Mr Haz.
The final display of these inspirational portraits will showcase the students’ dedication and artistic growth, as well as their respect and admiration for our First Nations leaders from near and far. We eagerly anticipate sharing this stunning collection with the community, celebrating the strength, vision, and legacy of these remarkable individuals.
Stay tuned for the unveiling of these incredible works of art, and join us in honouring the contributions and achievements of First Nations people during NAIDOC Week.
We are thrilled to be successfully implementing the Bond Blocks program once again this year as one important tool ……
