On a bright and breezy day, our Year 11 Outdoor Education students embarked on an exhilarating mountain biking adventure. With the wind at their backs, students set off from the college, swiftly making their way to Minyirr Park. The students eagerly tackled the bush tracks, navigating through deep, soft sand and overgrown paths that often obscured their view. Despite the challenging terrain, the day was filled with laughter and smiles, showcasing the college’s values of courage, love, empathy, acceptance, and resilience.
The adventure led them to the picturesque Rock Pools, where they enjoyed a refreshing swim and a well-deserved lunch as the weather warmed up. Refueled and ready, the students faced a strong headwind on their return journey, making their way to the Cable Beach General Store. There, they eagerly grabbed cold drinks and snacks to power through the final leg back to the college.
Upon returning to campus, the students packed up their gear and gathered for a debrief, sharing stories and laughs from their memorable day. The mountain biking trip was not only a test of physical endurance but also a celebration of the students’ spirit and camaraderie and ensured completion of important practical marks for their learning.
