Our College is always very proud to celebrate the exceptional achievements of all of our students and we are delighted to celebrate and share one of our fabulous student’s success with you all. Cadet Able Seaman Olivia Russell, has been awarded the prestigious National Commander’s Challenge Coin by the Australian Navy Cadets (ANC).

This rare and distinguished honour was bestowed upon Olivia following a directive from Captain Peter Alderson, ANC, the National Commander of the Australian Navy Cadets. Captain Alderson entrusted each Cadet Warrant Officer with his personal challenge coin, instructing them to identify one cadet within their flotilla who exemplifies the ANC’s core values: Respect, Integrity, Courage, Excellence, and Service.

Cadet Warrant Officer’s personal selection, Olivia of Training Ship Broome, stood out for her unwavering commitment to excellence both in and out of uniform. Her calm, welcoming nature and consistent leadership have positively impacted her peers, boosting morale and inspiring others to strive for their best.

“Olivia has become a quiet achiever and a worthy role model,” the Cadet Warrant Officer stated. “She continuously puts the needs of others before herself and presents herself as a beacon of light to those around her.”

In recognition of her outstanding conduct and leadership, Olivia has also been recommended for a Commanding Officer’s Citation and fast-tracked evaluation for promotion to Cadet Leading Seaman upon completion of her skills development package.

Our College feels immense pride and are delighted to celebrate Olivia’s achievement as we truly believe that this recognition reflects the values we see each and everyday in Olivia and nurture proudly at our college, in partnership with our incredible families. Values of leadership, service, and personal excellence are celebrated and Olivia’s success is a testament to the strength and spirit of our students and the exceptional youth we have in our Broome community.

Congratulations Olivia and Training Ship Broome for this inspiring example of youth leadership and service. We absolutely agree that you are a beacon of light and hope in our college community Olivia – congratulations!
