On June 27, 2025, our fabulous students and staff proudly participated in the Broome Reconciliation NAIDOC March, marking the beginning of NAIDOC Week celebrations in the Kimberley region. The march, brought together hundreds of community members, including our Broome schools, organisations, and community groups. We were delighted to be hosted at the end of the walk on Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral grounds.
The theme for this year’s NAIDOC Week, ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,’ resonated deeply with us all, highlighting the importance of empowering our young leaders and honouring the legacy of our First Nations people. Our students walked side by side with each other and staff, demonstrating their commitment to reconciliation and strong culture.
The march not only celebrated the start of NAIDOC week and celebrations of culture, but also served as a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey towards reconciliation. Every step matters, with a listening heart toward healing and hope. Our college will continue to embrace and promote cultural understanding, and our participation in the NAIDOC March stands as a beacon of hope and unity for the future of our community and beyond.

Through these young singers, Yawuru dancers and every student marching you could see, feel and believe in our Next Generation with Strength, Vision & Legacy.
In addition to the march, our college has planned various activities throughout NAIDOC Week, including cultural workshops, storytelling sessions, and art projects and on country learning. These events aim to deepen all of our students’ understanding and connection.
