Me and My Strengths

Our Year 7 students recently enjoyed a memorable three-day retreat at the Broome Camp School, located on the picturesque shores of Cable Beach. The camp, held from June 11th to June 13th, 2025, aimed to foster personal growth and strengthen connections among the students. The theme of the camp, “Me & My Strengths,” encouraged students to explore their individual strengths, understand their cohorts, and appreciate the natural environment. The program included a variety of challenging and adventurous activities designed to build teamwork, problem-solving skills, and resilience.

Students were dropped off at the camp by their families on the morning of June 11th, where they were warmly welcomed by our staff. Over the course of the retreat, the students participated in team-building exercises, water activities, and problem-solving challenges, all set against the stunning backdrop of Cable Beach. We also celebrated Mass and the strength within together through the Eucharist, led by Father Liam.

Accommodation was provided in dormitory-style rooms at the Broome Camp School. Students shared healthy and delicious meals in the communal dining area and had beautiful grounds to play and interact together, ensuring a fun and comfortable stay.

The camp’s goals included helping students persevere through challenges, become comfortable with the unknown, appreciate the importance of teamwork, take responsibility for their actions, reinforce skills learned this semester, and enjoy the outdoor environment away from college life.

Families picked up their children on the afternoon of June 13th, concluding a successful and enriching experience for our Year 7 students. The retreat not only provided an opportunity for personal growth but also strengthened the sense of community within our students.
