On Friday, our College came together to celebrate the Feast Day of Mary Help of Christians, the patroness of Australia and our College. This day is one of the most celebrated events on the college calendar, focusing on Mary’s help to those in need and her role in bringing the values of Jesus to all Australians. The celebration emphasised Mary’s protection and guidance, praying for harmony, justice, and peace under her care.
The day commenced with a beautiful Mass, celebrated by Father Patricio and Father Liam on our Secondary Campus. The Mass was a joyful and meaningful event, with the college student and staff choirs, led by Mr Ryan & Mr Ben providing incredible singing throughout. Student leaders took on roles as readers and offertory, demonstrating responsibility, respect, and reverence during our Eucharistic celebration. It was wonderful to have community members join us, as our students were incredibly reverent and reflective.
After our Mass, students returned to their classrooms and homerooms to prepare for the Festival Feast Day Fun. Secondary and primary students joined together on the primary campus to participate in games, challenges, celebrations and FUN! The college values of courage, love, empathy, acceptance, and resilience were evident throughout the day, reflecting Mary’s model of love, understanding, and compassion.
Our students enjoyed a delicious morning tea and lunch, thanks to our brilliant canteen staff. The afternoon was spent completing Icons of Mary and spending time with peers and teachers.
