Career Curiosity Culminates in VR Exploration

As part of their ongoing journey into career exploration, our Year 9 students at recently participated in their final Career Taster event for the year, this time with a futuristic twist. Thanks to North Regional TAFE, students had the opportunity to engage in a 45 minute virtual reality session, potentially experiencing over 40 different careers and industries.

Equipped with VR headsets, students stepped into the shoes of professionals from a wide range of fields. Some became barbers, others tried their hand as baristas, and a few even soared through the skies as jet pilots. They walked through space as astronauts, explored the ocean depths as deep-sea divers, and cultivated the land as farmers.

They were challenged to step outside their comfort zones and try something new, whether to uncover a hidden passion or confirm a lack of interest. While the photos may appear tame from the outside, the virtual experiences were anything but ordinary.

A huge thank you to Simone and Susan from North Regional TAFE for bringing this engaging and innovative opportunity to our students and our very own Head of Student Pathways, Ms Amy Boughton for ensuring these fabulous opportunities for our students. It was a memorable way to wrap up a year of career curiosity and exploration.
