Over the past two weeks, our Year 10 students have been out in our community, engaging in meaningful work placements as part of their Work Experience program. The feedback from businesses, students and staff has been overwhelmingly positive. From hospitality and retail to trades and administration, our students embraced the opportunity to explore real-world workplaces, gaining valuable insights and skills that will serve them well into the future.
We are incredibly grateful to the many local businesses who so generously welcomed our students and supported them throughout the fortnight. Their willingness to invest time and energy into our young people makes a huge difference, and we truly appreciate their partnership.
This experience also marks a significant step for our students in working towards an endorsed program with SCSA, contributing to their WACE requirements. It’s wonderful to see them making progress not just in their career exploration, but also in their academic journey.
One of the highlights for staff was visiting students on site, being able to see them in action, confidently navigating their roles, and proudly showing us around. From all reports, the students loved having their teachers pop in to check on them too.
We’re so proud of the way our Year 10s represented our College and we look forward to seeing where this experience takes them next. A huge thanks to all of our staff and families supporting this, led beautifully by our Head of Pathways, Ms Amy Boughton who we are so grateful for.
