We were delighted to be invited to Notre Dame Broome Campus for an Open Day event. Secondary students took another meaningful step toward their futures and possibilities today as they attended this wonderful opportunity and showcase. Notre Dame is celebrating its 30th year in Broome and the Open Day was a true indication that this campus is thriving.

The campus welcomed families, educators, and prospective students to explore the diverse educational opportunities available at Notre Dame’s Broome Campus. With interactive sessions hosted by the School of Nursing and Midwifery, School of Medicine, and Vocational Education and Training, students from our college engaged in hands-on learning and gained valuable insights into tertiary pathways.

Our Principal Ms Coby expressed pride in the students’ enthusiasm, ‘It’s wonderful to see our students exploring what’s possible for their future in their very own community, at our doorstep. Events like this help students connect their learning to real-world opportunities and inspire them to dream big.’

The Open Day also featured campus tours, student panels, and presentations from the Nulungu Research Institute, showcasing local research in areas such as Aboriginal studies, health, and sustainability. A family-friendly atmosphere was created with a sausage sizzle and children’s activities, making it an inclusive and engaging afternoon for all. There was even an opportunity to learn to do your tax return!

For many of our students, the visit sparked curiosity and excitement about life after school. Students expressed that they didn’t realise there were so many options right here in Broome. It definitely supported students thinking more seriously about possibilities here in Broome.

We are grateful to Notre Dame for hosting this special event for our community. Wonderful to see the campus alive and bustling, along with Notre Dame’s commitment to empowering young people in the Kimberley region through education, culture, and community. Notre Dame is a true blessing to higher education across the Kimberley.
