Play-Based Learning & Development
Grounded in play-based learning, our program is committed to:
- Developing Independence & Self-Help Skills – by encouraging confidence in everyday tasks.
- Supporting a Holistic Development – assisting growth across physical, social, emotional, cognitive, language, and spiritual domains.
- Self-Regulation & Wellbeing – Strengthening children’s mental and emotional health.
- Positive Identity & Self-Image – Helping each child build confidence and a strong sense of self.
Cultural Inclusivity & Sustainability
Our program embeds First Nations perspectives, celebrating diversity and acknowledging each child’s unique background, culture and language. We also encourage children to explore sustainability, helping them understand the role they play in building sustainable communities.
Strong Family Partnerships
We believe that parents are a child’s first educators, and we welcome strong family engagement. Our program encourages parent involvement, providing support and guidance to ensure families feel confident in their child’s development.
Quality Teaching & Learning
At St Mary’s College, our Three-Year-Old Kindergarten follows a structured yet flexible approach, ensuring that:
- Learning experiences expand children’s thinking and promote a love for lifelong learning.
- Multimodal play opportunities encourage creativity in areas such as art, music, and movement.
- Routine and flexible environments help children feel secure and supported.
Individual learning styles are respected, allowing each child to develop at their own pace.
Through this initiative, St Mary’s College reinforces its commitment to high-quality early childhood education, ensuring young learners receive the foundation they need for a successful and confident K-12 college journey committed to our college values of Courage, Love, Empathy, Acceptance and Resilience are pivotal to our K-12 education.
