Our College is extremely impressed with the participation of our students in the Shire of Broome Youth Leadership Forum. This inspiring event saw thirty students from St Mary’s College come together to develop their leadership skills and contribute to the future of our amazing Broome community.
Students from our Year 12 Student Representative Council (SRC) played a pivotal role in supporting students from Year 7 to Year 11 who have been nominated for selection for the 2025 SRC. Their guidance and encouragement exemplify the qualities of strong leadership, including responsibility, mentorship, and teamwork all with a listening heart and commitment to our college values.
Facilitated by the Shire of Broome and Youth Leadership Academy Australia, the forum provided an invaluable opportunity for students to engage in leadership development, explore ways to positively impact their community, and contribute to the Shire of Broome Youth Plan. Through these experiences, our students are gaining the skills necessary to be the compassionate, responsible, and forward-thinking leaders of tomorrow, the agents of change.
Leadership is about inspiring and uplifting those around you. Our students have shown remarkable dedication to their roles and continue to embody the values of courage, love, empathy, acceptance and resilience that define our College.
A heartfelt thank you to the Shire of Broome’s Shahni Fewster, Youth Leadership Academy Australia’s Will Massara, and their teams for empowering and educating the future leaders of St Mary’s College Broome. We look forward to seeing the incredible contributions our students will make in the years ahead.
