Digital Learning
At St. Mary’s College we recognise the importance of the relationship between the art of teaching and the virtual and physical spaces. Therefore, we embrace the power of digital learning innovation to inspire and empower the next generation of learners. As a leading secondary school in Kimberley region of Western Australia, we are committed to staying at the forefront of educational technology and providing our students with a transformative learning experience that prepares them for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.
We recognise that the world is rapidly evolving, and so are the ways we acquire and apply knowledge. Traditional classroom settings alone are no longer sufficient to fully equip our students for the dynamic and interconnected global landscape they will navigate in the future. Therefore, we have embarked on a journey of educational transformation, leveraging cutting-edge digital tools and methodologies to enhance teaching and learning.
Our digital learning initiatives are rooted in the belief that every student possesses unique talents and strengths waiting to be unlocked. By integrating technology seamlessly into our curriculum, we aim to foster a student-centric learning environment that celebrates individuality, encourages critical thinking, and nurtures creativity. Through multimedia resources, interactive simulations, virtual field trips, and collaborative online platforms, students can delve deeper into subjects, enabling them to grasp complex concepts more effectively. This dynamic learning experience not only improves academic outcomes but also fosters a genuine passion for lifelong learning.
Our team of dedicated staff are equipped to harness the potential of technology to create enriching learning experiences. They embrace innovative teaching methods that allow students to explore, experiment, and express themselves authentically. By combining traditional teaching wisdom with digital advancements, our teachers guide students on a path of discovery and self-discovery, empowering them to take ownership of their education.
Our 1:1 iPad Program
All students are provided with a college owned iPad that is maintained in conjunction with the Catholic Education Office of WA. By providing an iPad to students in this way, the College can ensure our students develop digital literacy and technological skills from an early age and provide our families the ease of regular maintenance, the latest software updates, and hardware repairs at very low cost to parents. Another advantage of a school managed device is online safety to students with increased internet security creating a safer online environment whilst maintaining productivity in the classroom.
Our digital learning programs equip our students with essential technological skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom. From coding and programming, to data analysis and multimedia production, our students become confident and competent digital citizens, ready to thrive in a technology-driven society.
