In a moving tribute to those who have gone before us, students and staff from our college came together to commemorate All Saints and All Souls Day with a special visit to our cemetery on Friday.

Primary students, accompanied by staff and joined by members of the secondary campus, took time out of their day to honour the memory of loved ones and those who have passed. With reverence and reflection, the we gathered to offer prayers, lay flowers, and pay respects for both family graves and those that remain unmarked or unknown.

The visit was a powerful reminder of the importance of remembering and praying for all souls, especially those who may no longer have family to visit them. Students brought flowers from home, placing them gently on graves as a symbol of love, remembrance, and hope.

All Saints and All Souls Day is a sacred time in our Catholic tradition. It’s a moment for our community to pause, reflect, and honour the lives of those who have shaped us. We are very proud of our students for the respect and compassion they showed today and our staff for leading them.

The College’s observance of these holy days continues a long-standing tradition of faith, remembrance, and community spirit, reinforcing the values that lie at the heart of St Mary’s College. We look forward to joining as a catholic community for All Soul’s Mass at the cemetery on the weekend.
