WOW! What an amazing afternoon!
Our Year 6 girls played two full matches of AFL in Round 1 against Cable Beach Primary School and Roebuck Primary School. Our first game was dominated by two superstars – Isabella Kranz (our own Buddy Franklin) and Alayah Angus (who jumped as high in the ruck as Nic Naitanui). Our backs stayed focussed, but it was a forward dominated game with St Mary’s College winning by a landslide.
The second game against Roebuck was closer. It was locked at one goal each until we played extra time and Roebuck Primary School kicked the winning goal on the siren. Our backline held up so well with superstar tacklers and all girls approached every contest with confidence and grit.
We can’t wait for next week’s games at Roebuck – GO ST MARY’S!!!
