Creativity, teamwork, and student voice were on full display this term as Year 5 students proudly revealed their custom-designed camp fishing shirts – marking a standout moment in their preparation for the highly anticipated Year 5 Cultural Camp. The project placed students at the centre of the design process, providing the students an opportunity to create images to be incorporated into the final design.
A student commented, “It’s cool because it reminds us of fishing, being on country together. I can’t wait to wear it at camp!”
The finished shirts feature a vibrant mix of student-inspired designs, blending local and cultural influences with imaginative details that celebrate both the environment and the friendships within the cohort. Worn together, the shirts create a strong sense of identity and team spirit among the Year 5 students.
As the countdown to camp continues, for early next term our Year 5 fishing shirts have already become a symbol of unity and excitement – capturing not only the theme of the trip but the collective voice of the students themselves.
