Students in Secondary Food Technology have been busy engaging in exciting and meaningful learning experiences.

Year 8 students are currently completing the Oz Harvest FEAST program, exploring important issues around food waste and sustainability. Through hands-on activities and cooking experiences, students arelearning how to reduce waste, use ingredients more thoughtfully, and make more sustainable food choices in their everyday lives.

Senior students also benefited from a valuable industry experience, participating in an incursion led by Kiren Mainwaring from Hospitality Group Training (HGT). Kiren demonstrated how to cook a mushroom and bacon risotto, guiding students through key techniques, timing, and ingredient selection while providing insight into professional kitchen practices.  He also spoke with students about pathways into the hospitality industry, sharing his personal highlights and the rewards of working in a professional kitchen.
