Over the past two weeks, selected students from our Primary and Secondary campuses swapped the classroom for the beach as they took part in the Ocean Heroes surfing program at Cable Beach. Our incredible staff from Wiriny Buru and Jarrayirr Buru joined in the surfing fun too, ensuring everyone was able to access this opportunity.
Ocean Heroes is all about getting active, building confidence, and having a great time in the water. Secondary students hit the waves in Week 7, followed by students in Years 3–6 from the Primary campus in Week 8.
With support from Ocean Heroes staff and our team, students of all abilities had the chance to give surfing a go, enjoy the beach, and try something new.
We’re looking forward to more fun in the surf when the program returns in Term 3!
