Our Primary STRIVE Academic Extension students have been hard at work developing their thinking skills, creativity and curiosity through a range of exciting learning experiences.
The Year 6 STRIVE students began their session by tackling a series of challenging Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) enrichment problems. These warm-up activities encouraged students to think critically, persevere through complex problems and apply creative problem-solving strategies. Students then shifted their focus to their major STEAM project, exploring Innovation in the Kimberley. Working through the Design Thinking process, students are investigating local challenges and opportunities while developing innovative solutions that could make a positive impact in our region.
Meanwhile, our Year 4 STRIVE students started the day with their popular Brain Gym activities. Through movement, balance and coordination challenges, students exercised both their bodies and minds, preparing themselves for deep learning. They then continued their fascinating inquiry into Shipwrecks, embarking on a virtual excursion aboard the famous Dutch vessel, the Duyfken.
From mathematical problem-solving and innovation to history, exploration and movement, our STRIVE students continue to demonstrate curiosity, resilience and a love of learning as they challenge themselves to think beyond the classroom.
