What a day to remember at the Kimberley Girls Dockers AFL Carnival!
Tuesday 31st March brought the heat in more ways than one, with the sun shining and the energy high from the moment we arrived. Our two teams — Years 7–9 and Years 10–12 — showed up excited, focused, and ready to play.
The junior girls kicked things off in style, taking the field first and coming away with an awesome 31–21 win! Their teamwork, determination, and support for one another set the tone for the entire day.
While the juniors were dominating on the field, our senior girls had an incredible opportunity off it — meeting Onya from the Fremantle Dockers AFLW team. They also took part in a powerful session on healthy and unhealthy relationships with Hannah Wade and Sarani Bin Bakar from AKG, gaining valuable knowledge and life skills beyond the game.
It was fantastic to see students from Beagle Bay, One Arm Point, and Broome Senior High School all coming together — building connections, sharing the love of footy, and supporting each other throughout the day.
Despite the heat, our girls gave it absolutely everything. They played hard, lifted each other up, and celebrated every moment — and it paid off with BOTH teams bringing home the win! The senior girls capped off the day with a strong victory of their own, showing resilience and leadership right to the final siren.
We wrapped up with a well-earned sausage sizzle and presentations — the perfect way to celebrate a fantastic day of footy, friendship, and fun.
