Our College proudly opened its NAIDOC Week celebrations with a moving and joyful liturgy, honouring the theme of `50 Years of NAIDOC – Celebrating the Past, Inspiring the Future’. Our community gathered to recognise and celebrate the rich cultures, histories and contributions of First Nations peoples, while acknowledging the significance of NAIDOC’s 50-year journey of advocacy, recognition and pride.
A special thank you was extended to the College’s First Nations staff, whose leadership, dedication and cultural knowledge made the celebration such a meaningful occasion. Their hard work in preparing and leading the liturgy ensured a beautiful and authentic experience for all students, staff and community members.
The celebration was enriched by the talents of our students, who shared their gifts through music, prayer and reflection. A highlight of the gathering was a powerful performance by the College Choir, who proudly sang the 2026 NAIDOC Song, bringing energy, pride and a strong sense of unity to the occasion.
Fr Liam led our Liturgy, inspiring those present with a message of faith, respect and reconciliation. Through prayer and storytelling, the community was reminded of the importance of walking together, listening deeply and celebrating the world’s oldest continuing cultures.
Students played a significant role throughout the liturgy, confidently sharing their talents and helping to create a reverent and memorable celebration. Their participation reflected the spirit of community that is central to our college.
