On Friday 27 March, all Student Representative Council Leaders from Years 6–12 came together for a vibrant and action‑packed Leadership Day at the Broome Camp School. The day was expertly hosted by Tom and Jason, whose energy, encouragement, and creativity set the tone for an unforgettable experience.
Students jumped enthusiastically into a full program of team‑building challenges, kite making, catapults, rock climbing, prusiking, and the legendary Milk Crate Mountain — where SMC proudly set a new record of 19 crates! A huge achievement and a moment of pure excitement for the whole group!
Throughout the day, students mixed across year levels, met new people, collaborated in challenges, and pushed themselves outside their comfort zones. The atmosphere was full of smiles, laughter, high climbers, fast climbers, and plenty of friendly competition — including the crowd‑favourite moment of Mr Naish beating Thomas to the top of the rock‑climbing wall.
The day wrapped up with a refreshing swim in the pool and a special awards presentation celebrating students who embodied the values of the SRC:
- Respect Award: Elara Beacham (Year 6)
- Responsible Award: Shannola Cox (Year 12)
- Challenge Yourself Award: Dailin Dann (Year 7)
- Citizenship Award: Vincent Rasmey (Year 12)
Each recipient demonstrated outstanding leadership, teamwork, and personal growth.

The SRC Leadership Day was a powerful reminder of the strength, spirit, and potential of our young leaders — and we can’t wait to see the impact they make throughout the year.
