Week 5 of Term 1 saw our Year 3–6 students dive into an exciting day of competition, House spirit and plenty of fun at the 2026 St Mary’s College Primary House Swimming Carnival.
The pool deck was buzzing with energy as students cheered on their House teammates and challenged themselves across a range of swimming events. From outstanding individual performances to enthusiastic House support, our students demonstrated the St Mary’s Way throughout the day — showing courage, resilience, respect and encouragement for one another.
A special congratulations goes to all of our individual champion swimmers, who were recognised with a medallion for their fantastic performances. We also celebrated a new swimming record, with Isabel Brown setting a new Year 3 Girls’ 25m Freestyle record, finishing in an impressive 20.88 seconds! What an outstanding achievement!
The House competition was hotly contested, with every House giving their all right through to the final event. Our 2026 results were:

🥉 3rd – O’Brien: 247 points
🥈 2nd – Barbier: 331 points
🏆 1st – Rice: 404 points
