Students from KRASH (Kimberley Regional Alliance for Students in Health) visited St Mary’s College to share their passion for careers in the Health industry with our Year 9 and 10 students. Their engaging session aimed to broaden students’ awareness of the wide range of pathways available in the Health industry.
The interactive presentation featured four hands‑on stations: paramedics, optometry, midwifery/social work, and first aid. Students rotated through each station, gaining practical experience and insights into different health professions.
At the paramedic station, students practised CPR on manikins, demonstrating impressive skill and confidence, which is reassuring for our community! The optometry station focused on eye health, while the midwifery and social work station explored childbirth and care practices. A final station allowed students to learn vital first aid skills, including treating snake bites and wrapping wounds.
The session was both informative and engaging, leaving students inspired and more aware of the diverse opportunities within the health sector!
