Our College, is continuing to come to life through hands-on learning experiences that are growing far beyond the classroom walls.
Across both campuses, students are embracing the opportunity to learn through our Secondary Greenhouse and Primary Edible Garden projects. From planting seedlings and monitoring growth, to harvesting fresh produce for Food Innovation and Food Technology classes, students are seeing real-world learning in action every week.
The Secondary Greenhouse has quickly become a thriving outdoor classroom, with students exploring sustainability, food security, STEM, and future food technologies. Fresh herbs, vegetables such as kangkong, and produce grown by students are already being incorporated into cooking lessons and food-based projects. Meanwhile, on the Primary campus, the Edible Garden is creating excitement and curiosity among younger learners. Students are learning where food comes from, how plants grow, and the importance of caring for living systems. The garden spaces have become calm, engaging environments where students can collaborate, problem-solve, and connect learning to the world around them.
Most importantly, students are loving these outdoor learning spaces. Whether watering garden beds before school, checking on seedlings during class, or proudly harvesting produce they helped grow themselves, students are developing confidence, responsibility, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning.
We also know many families in our community have great knowledge about gardening, growing food, and caring for Country. We’d love to hear what you grow at home, any tips you may have, or welcome anyone interested in helping support our gardens throughout the year.
