Food Technology Assessment Week was a wonderful celebration of creativity, initiative and practical skills, with students from Years 7 to 12 showcasing their growing confidence and expertise in the kitchen.
Each year level took on a unique challenge, providing students with opportunities to demonstrate their culinary knowledge, creativity and impressive food presentation skills.
Year 7 students created colourful and nutritious Smoothie Bowls, combining a range of fresh ingredients to produce visually appealing and delicious creations. Year 8 students assembled tasty Taco Bowls, demonstrating thoughtful flavour combinations and excellent presentation.
Our Year 9 students explored international cuisine as they prepared Pork Dumpling Ramen Bowls, developing their practical skills while experimenting with different flavours and techniques.
Year 10 students embraced creativity and sustainability, producing innovative main dishes using fresh ingredients harvested from the College’s greenhouse and gardens. Their dishes highlighted the importance of sustainable food practices while demonstrating initiative and creative thinking.
For Year 11, food and marketing came together through their Food Advertising projects, where students explored how food products can be presented and promoted to an audience.
A particularly memorable milestone was reached by our Year 12 students as they completed their final Food Technology assessment task. Students designed and assembled impressive Charcuterie Boards, featuring a selection of their own homemade preserved food products. Their work represented the culmination of years of skill development, creativity, practical learning and dedication to the subject.
Congratulations to all our Food Technology students on their outstanding efforts. It was wonderful to see their creativity, confidence and practical skills on display throughout the week. Well done! 👏🍎🌮🥗🧀
