Exploring Futures with Aspire UWA

Continuing our partnership with the University of Western Australia as an Aspire school, St Mary’s welcomed students and staff from UWA last Friday to engage with students across a range of year groups.

For Years 10, 11 and 12, the focus was on pathways to university and other forms of higher education. Staff from the UWA School of Indigenous Studies helped students explore the variety of opportunities and support available to them as they consider their future study options.

Year 9 students took part in an interactive session exploring the science of food, creating molecular models of different food types before sampling a range of flavours. Meanwhile, Year 7 students reflected on their personal values, considering who they are, what is important to them, and how their future career pathways can align with those values.

St Mary’s students continue to benefit greatly from our partnership with Aspire UWA, and we look forward to participating in the Year 9 Uni Immersion Camp later this year.
