Jarrayirr Buru would like to extend a huge thank you to our P&F for funding the purchase of our new trampoline! Since its arrival, it has quickly become a much-loved addition to our learning environment and a firm favourite among students.
The trampoline is being enjoyed in a variety of ways throughout the school day — from movement breaks following learning sessions, to supporting sensory regulation, as well as during recess and lunch play. It provides a fun and engaging opportunity for students to meet their movement and sensory needs, supporting wellbeing, regulation and readiness for learning.
We are particularly proud of the way students have embraced the expectations around safe and respectful trampoline use. Students have demonstrated wonderful skills in waiting patiently, taking turns, following safety instructions and using a timer to ensure everyone has a fair opportunity. These simple routines provide valuable opportunities to develop patience, self-regulation and positive social skills.
The trampoline has proven to be much more than just playground equipment. It has become a motivating movement tool, an effective support for sensory regulation and a wonderful way for students to connect, interact and build friendships.
