Last Thursday, our school community came together in a spirit of reflection and respect to commemorate ANZAC Day through a series of moving liturgies held across both Primary and Secondary homeroom classes. These gatherings provided students with a meaningful opportunity to pause, remember, and honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our country.
In classrooms, the liturgies were conducted with great reverence. Students engaged thoughtfully in prayers, readings, and moments of silence, demonstrating a deep appreciation for the significance of ANZAC Day. It was heartening to see such maturity and respect shown by students of all year levels as they reflected on themes of service, sacrifice, and peace.
Our commemoration extended beyond the classroom, with St Mary’s College proudly represented at the local ANZAC Day Dawn Service by members of our Student Representative Council from both Primary and Secondary. Their presence was a testament to the strong sense of community and leadership within our school.
The Dawn Service saw a wonderful turnout, with students and families coming together to honour this important national occasion. Our representatives conducted themselves with dignity and pride, truly reflecting the values of our College. We are incredibly proud of their contribution and the way they represented both our school and their families.
As a community, we are grateful for the opportunity to remember and to ensure that the legacy of the ANZAC spirit continues to live on in the hearts of our students.
