Year 5s Cook Up Life Skills with Year 10s
As part of their Design and Technologies learning, our Year 5 students joined forces with the Year 10 Food Technologies class for a fun and flavoursome Taco Smash Burger incursion. Guided by their wise older peers, students learnt how food technologists and chefs work together to make food production both efficient and enjoyable. Year 10s were awesome mentors to their mini chefs display kindness and patience.
Back in class, Year 5s are unpacking the experience through their “Behind the Burger” mini-unit — creating digital storyboards that explored the roles, systems, and safety practices behind successful food production. Fun was had, life skills were learnt, and burgers were flipped to perfection!
